Light Cemetery

Light Cemetery is located in Section 17 of Tippecanoe Township north of Armstrong Road, it is on private property. The cemetery is no longer in use in 2009.

The last reading of the cemetery was done by Mr. Lester H. Binnie on December 18, 1976. He included 4 inscriptions reported by the D. A. R. circa 1936, in his reading.

Dick Mitchell, who reclaimed this forgotten burial ground tells why there is a space unmarked, away from the others. Local lore states that an Indian was buried in this cemetery. A decision was made to place the box away from the others where there was a depression in the ground. There is no record to confirm this information.
